Lindiwe Ngcongco

Lindiwe Ngcongco is interested in paleoenvironmental reconstruction which involves studying past environmental changes that could be used to develop strategies to manage present and future environmental changes. Her research focuses on reconstructing fire history and understanding management practices at the iSimangaliso Wetland Park in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to investigate how the arrival of Iron Age farmers in the coastal region of Kwazulu Natal, about 2000 years ago, changed the landscape through burning.
