Asanda Magopheni is interested in biodiversity conservation, climate change, environmental change and conservation of wetlands and their biodiversity. Her research focuses on sea level dynamics using mangrove sediments from uMngazana estuary. She wants to find out how the sea level has changed through time and look at how sea level change affects mangroves trees and other estuarine species.
